AEDC to disconnect Army, Force Headquarters, others FG Ministries over unpaid bills Monday

The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC, has announced a date for disconnection of some Federal Government ministries including the Army and Police Headquarters effect from Monday, June 3, 2024 over unpaid bills.

In a statement titled “Notice of Power Disconnection for Customers with Outstanding Bills,” AEDC announced plans to disconnect services for non-paying customers starting Monday, June 3, 2024.

The defaulters marked for the disconnection include the Nigerian Army Headquarters, Nigerian Air Force Headquarters, Defence Headquarters, and the Nigerian Police Force.

The company spoke on the necessity of timely bill payments to maintain and enhance its infrastructure, ensuring the delivery of efficient and reliable electricity services.

“We urge all customers with unpaid bills to settle their accounts before the deadline to avoid service interruption,” the statement read.

Other notable entities facing disconnection include the Federal Capital Development Authority, Kogi State Government, Niger State Government, and various federal ministries such as Education, Women Affairs, Industry, Trade, Interior, Water Resources, Finance, and Works. Additionally, facilities like the National Stadium, Goodluck Jonathan Athletics Hall, and the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, Abuja are also on the list.

AEDC reminded all customers with outstanding debts that they would not be exempt from disconnection and encouraged them to clear their dues promptly.
