Ogun Man stabs Okada rider over alleged affair with wife

Ibrahim Ogunrinde, a 46-year-old farmer and butcher, has been detained by the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation, and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) for allegedly stabbing a motorcyclist named Kosu Daniel.

According to Moruf Yusuf, spokesperson for the So-Safe Corps, the arrest took place on Thursday at around 2:30 pm. Ogunrinde, a resident of Adu Town, Ajebo Road, Mile 6, Abeokuta, was apprehended at the Ijaye garage.

Reports indicate that after the stabbing incident, Ogunrinde fled the scene with the victim’s motorbike.

Yusuf stated, “Ibrahim Ogunrinde, a butcher and farmer, pretended to be a passenger and asked the victim, Kosu Daniel (aka Jeje), to take him to Olubo town on Wednesday, July 5, 2024, at noon. He then allegedly stabbed Kosu Daniel in the neck and arm, leaving him in a pool of blood, and escaped with the victim’s motorbike.”

During questioning, Ogunrinde allegedly admitted that he intended to murder Daniel because he suspected him of having an affair with his wife two months earlier.

“He believed he had succeeded in killing the victim, not knowing that Kosu Daniel was rushed to the hospital and is currently receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta,” the statement added.

The suspect and the motorbike have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, SWAT, Magbon, for further investigation and possible legal action.
