An operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has died by suicide at his home in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.
According to PRNigeria, the deceased, a member of Course 5, was known for his diligence, efficiency, and unassuming nature.
The tragic event took place on Monday.
The EFCC is investigating potential contributing factors, including mental health and family issues, that may have led to the operative’s depression and subsequent actions.
EFCC spokesperson Mr. Dele Oyewale informed PRNigeria that an investigation is ongoing to uncover the circumstances surrounding the suicide.
The operative’s name has not been released by the EFCC, pending the conclusion of the investigation.
