Niger Deputy Governor loses wife 

The Deputy Governor of Niger State, Yakubu Garba, has suffered the loss of his wife, Hajiya Zainab. She passed away on the morning of Tuesday, July 2, 2024.

The news was confirmed by Salis Sabo, the personal assistant to the deputy governor, through a post on his Facebook page.

He wrote, “Innalillahi wa Inna ilaihi raji’un!!! We just lost the wife of our principal, His Excellency the Deputy Governor of Niger State. May Allah forgive her shortcomings and grant her Aljannatul Firdausi.”

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Hajiya Zainab Garba. In a condolence message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, Governor Bago described the loss as a significant blow to the state.

He remarked that this tragic news is a challenging moment not only for his Deputy but also for the government and the people of Niger State.

The Governor extended his condolences, urging his Deputy to find solace in the belief that his wife’s passing is an act of Allah and to take comfort in the knowledge that she lived a good life.

Governor Bago assured that the State Executive Council shares in this loss and will offer all necessary support during this period of mourning.

He prayed for Allah to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings and grant her Aljanna Firdausi. Additionally, he prayed for Allah to provide comfort to the Deputy Governor and all the people of Niger State.
