In Kafanchan, Kaduna State, a Chief Magistrate’s Court has ordered Josiah Alkali, a 30-year-old teacher, to be held in a correctional facility on charges of allegedly engaging in inappropriate behavior, including kissing, with four boys.
Josiah Alkali is facing multiple defilement charges brought by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
The allegations were reported to the Salama Sexual Assault Referral Centre in Kafanchan on July 3. It is claimed that between February and July 2024, Alkali lured boys aged 13 to 15 into his room in Takau, where he allegedly kissed them and engaged in inappropriate conduct.

NSCDC prosecutor Marcus Audu stated that the defendant threatened the boys with harm if they disclosed the incidents.
During investigations, Alkali reportedly confessed to the accusations. However, Chief Magistrate Samson Kwasu declined to accept Alkali’s plea due to jurisdictional constraints. Kwasu directed the prosecutor to provide duplicate case files to the State Director of Public Prosecutions for further legal advice.
The case has been adjourned until July 25 for further mention.
