FBI unravel identity of shooter attempting to assassinate Trump

The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation has identified the shooter involved in the incident at Donald Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, which resulted in one fatality and one injury on Saturday.

In a statement released on Sunday, the FBI named Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old Pennsylvania resident, as the individual responsible for the assassination attempt on Mr. Trump.

According to Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldinger, the shooter who caused the disruption at Mr. Trump’s rally was neutralized.

President Joe Biden expressed his relief and concern in a post on X, saying, “I’m grateful to hear that he’s safe and doing well. I’m praying for him and his family and for all those who were at the rally, as we await further information.”

The incident caused widespread panic among the rally attendees as Mr. Trump was quickly escorted off the stage by Secret Service agents. He was seen with blood on his ear and face, following a brief but alarming gunshot sound.

Footage of Mr. Trump with blood on his face and ear has since gone viral, highlighting the dramatic and unsettling nature of the episode.

Saturday’s shooting at Mr. Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania marks another incident in U.S. political history, adding to the list of presidential candidates who have been targeted.
