Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have successfully neutralized one kidnapper and apprehended another involved in the abduction of Hajiya Hauwa’u Adamu, the mother of popular Kano-based Hausa singer, Dauda Rarara.

Gunmen had stormed Rarara’s mother’s residence in Kahutu village, Danja Local Government Area of Kano State, and kidnapped her on Friday, June 28, 2024. She was freed after spending 20 days in captivity.

A highly placed source within the secret service revealed to Daily Trust that a covert operation led to the recovery of N26.5 million.

The source stated that the DSS Kano command’s tactical team, acting on reliable intelligence, intercepted a gang of five bandits in Makarfi bush while they were dividing the ransom.

“One Hamisu Tukur, is currently in custody with gunshot injuries, while Bature was killed,” the source said.
