NYSC suspends CDS, biometric verification, advises against wearing of uniforms

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced the suspension of its monthly clearance and weekly Community Development Services (CDS) for corps members nationwide for August.

In a recent memo, the NYSC advised corps members not to wear their official uniforms during this period, stating that they should attend to NYSC matters in casual attire.

The memo also cautioned against participating in the hunger protest scheduled for August 1.

The NYSC indicated that further details regarding the resumption of CDS and biometric verification will be communicated in due course. The memo, obtained by the Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ), emphasized that the scheme strictly prohibits participation in any form of protest that might disrupt public order.

The notice concludes with a reminder that the NYSC remains committed to promoting unity and maintaining order among corps members.
