Ondo 2024: APC chieftain defects to NNPP, establishes UK Chapter

UK-based Nigerian engineer Gabriel Sola Abe from Akure South Local Government Area in Ondo State has left the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

At a press conference, Abe commended the NNPP for its dedication to people-centric policies and democratic values, which influenced his decision.

He recently completed his registration with the NNPP at his local ward in Akure South.

Abe criticized the APC for its perceived lack of democratic leadership and transparency. He also criticized both the APC and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), calling them oppressors with a flawed governance approach.

He stated that his switch to the NNPP was driven by a desire for positive political change in Nigeria and a commitment to his community in Akure. Abe praised Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the NNPP’s national leader,

Abe said the security challenge in Ondo State would come to an end “as we’re ready to give Hon. Gbenga Edema and his Deputy Barr. Rotimi Adeyemi all the foreign and local machineries needed to combat insecurity.”

“We have called on our fellow Nigerians to join the NNPP and rally behind Hon. Olugbenga Edema and Barr. (Dr.) Rotimi Adeyemi as the party’s Governorship and Deputy Governorship candidates respectively. Our group believes in the vision and values of the NNPP and sees it as the harbinger of positive change and good governance in Ondo State,” he said.
