The Kano Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has detained 32 individuals in connection with recent shop looting in the Sabon Gari area of Fagge Local Government Area.
Corps Commandant Mohammad Falala reported that the arrests were made in various locations, including Sabon Gari, Bata, France Road, and Murtala Mohammed Way.
NSCDC personnel, with the assistance of local residents, also recovered stolen items from suspects in Gyadi Gyadi, Kano.
These items, believed to have been taken during protests on State Road and Iyaka Road, are now under the Corps’ control.
Commandant Falala has urged the public to provide reliable information to aid in the identification and capture of all individuals involved in the looting of both public and private properties.
He assured that increased patrols would be implemented in collaboration with other security agencies to address the unrest caused by the protests.
He stressed that legal action would be pursued against those found guilty once investigations are complete and called on residents to cooperate with security agencies to help restore peace and order in the state.
The command has already initiated a thorough investigation into the incidents.
