Tragedy has struck the Akwa Ibom Police Command with the news that Commissioner of Police Waheed Ayilara has died.
Sources close to the family revealed that Ayilara succumbed to complications early Thursday morning at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) in Ikeja. Just a day prior, he had undergone surgery for prostate cancer.
A family member shared the heartbreaking news: “We are deeply saddened to inform you that our friend, brother, and protector, the Commissioner of Police for Akwa Ibom State, Waheed Ayilara, has passed away.”
