The Vice President of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima, has exclaimed that the whole city of Maiduguri has been overtaken by flood.
Shettima expressed the deep concern in Abuja on Tuesday during the 17th Annual Banking and Finance Conference (CIBN), which was centered around the theme “Accelerated Economic Growth and Development: Current Status and Future Directions.”
He disclosed that President Tinubu had directed him to visit Maiduguri, Borno State, in response to the severe flooding affecting the state capital.

“Be rest assured that the President has the nation at heart and will do whatever it takes to salvage the state of affairs,”
“I want to use this forum to commiserate with the people of our great nation over the flood disasters we are recording all across the length and breath of this nation.”
