The Edo State governorship election began slowly on Saturday, with low voter turnout observed in the early hours.
At Emokpae Primary School voting center in Ward 4, Oredo Local Government Area, where Governor Godwin Obaseki is expected to cast his vote, the election had not started as of 8:33 am when Tribune Online visited.
The center, which consists of 22 voting points, remained largely empty as electoral officers were still setting up the polling units.
While a few people were present at the site, most were party agents representing the 18 political parties contesting the election.
