Uju Kennedy: Jubilation at Ministry of Women Affairs following sack of Minister

Staff of Ministry of Women Affairs have been spotted in jubilation following removal of Minister Uju Kennedy by President Bola Tinubu in recent cabinet reshuffle.

The president’s decision, which came as a surprise to many on Wednesday, has led to widespread celebration among some ministry staff and stakeholders in the women’s affairs ministry.

In a video seen by AFRIPOST, staff at the women’s affairs ministry were seen rejoicing and jubilating following the announcement that the women’s affairs minister had been sacked.

Uju Kennedy’s tenure had been marked by controversy, with reports of internal disagreements and dissatisfaction with her leadership style. The reshuffle is seen as part of President Tinubu’s broader efforts to reposition his administration and improve the effectiveness of key ministries.

Sources within the ministry expressed optimism that the change in leadership would lead to more focused policies on women’s rights and gender-related issues. “This is a welcome development. We hope the new leadership will prioritize the issues that matter most to Nigerian women,” a senior official remarked exclusively to AFRIPOST.

Meanwhile, women in politics have hailed the appointment of the new Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, expressing confidence that she would deliver and implement policies in line with the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
