WWE: John Cena announces retirement timeline from active competition

WWE icon, John Cena has announced his retirement from active wrestling competitions.

Cena disclosed this during the WWE Money in the Bank event in Toronto, Canada.

The 16-time world champion revealed that he plans to retire from wrestling in 2025.

Cena specified that his final appearances will include the 2025 Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.

Sporting a ‘John Cena Farewell Tour 2025’ banner, he expressed, “I’ve been with WWE for over two decades. I’ve experienced tremendous success, like what we’re seeing now.

“WWE is hotter than ever. But I’ve also faced real challenges, times when no one knows your name, no one wants to be your friend, and only the most loyal fans stand by you.”

He also expressed his interest in being part of Raw’s transition to Netflix in January.

Cena originally debuted in WWE in 2002 and has transitioned to a part-time role since 2018, focusing more on his acting career, a Beli Media report said.
