Social media reactions have greeted the establishment of the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development by President Bola Tinubu in Abuja Monday.
This establishment follows the presidential approval granted in September 2023, establishing a committee to drive reforms in the livestock sector.
According to reports, the newly created ministry will be responsible for regulating and promoting the development of livestock resources, encompassing working animals, meat, eggs, dairy products, and other essential commodities.
However, upon the announcement, Facebook users stiffly criticized the Federal Government for duplicating ministries while abandoning minimum wage and other issues affecting common Nigerians.
Other users claimed the action was a strategy to win the support of Fulani herders during President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
