2027: El-Rufai’s son issues cryptic warning to Tinubu: ‘nobody is too big to be voted out’

Bashir El-Rufai, the son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has issued a veiled warning to President Bola Tinubu regarding the 2027 elections.

Bashir asserted that no one is immune to being voted out by the electorate, emphasizing that this can happen without repercussions. He urged people to disregard current threats and remain patient.

In a post on his X handle on Wednesday, Bashir hinted at Tinubu by stating that neither the IMF nor the World Bank would be able to save “the people” when the time comes. He added, “Political strategist una. That one na for Lagos,” a nod to Tinubu’s reputation as a master strategist during the 2023 presidential campaign.

It’s noteworthy that Nasir El-Rufai, Bashir’s father, has faced allegations of misappropriation of public funds during his tenure as Kaduna State governor.

Bashir wrote: “Nobody is too big to be elected out of office by the people. It will happen & wallahi nothing will happen. So forget all these intimidations flying up and down. Let us be patient.

“Even IMF & World Bank no go save una that time. Political strategist una. That one na for Lagos.”

Following his initial post, Bashir clarified that he didn’t mention any specific names, reiterating that no one would coerce him into supporting what he described as the utter failure of governance masked by a dangerous ethnocentric political strategy.

“I didn’t call names o, but due to their guilt, they already know who is being spoken about. Wallahi, none of you will force anyone to support this utter failure of governance disguised as useless, dangerous ethnocentric political strategy,” he added.
