Ogun Police arrest man for stabbing girlfriend’s brother during dispute 

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have apprehended 35-year-old Dada Taiwo for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend’s brother, Damilola Momoh, in the neck with a broken bottle.

The incident occurred in Agbado, Ifo Local Government Area, during an argument about a borrowed phone.

According to the police, Taiwo, who is 35, attacked 34-year-old Damilola over the phone dispute. The arrest was confirmed by the command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, who noted that the incident was reported by Olaife Momoh, Taiwo’s girlfriend.

Damilola was promptly taken to Overcomer Hospital in Agbado for medical treatment, and an investigation into the matter is ongoing.

She said: “On July 21, about 2a.m., a woman named Olaife Momoh, residing at 11, Sowemimo Street, Akera, Agbado, Ogun State, reported to the station that her boyfriend, Dada Taiwo of 34 Crossing Road, Agbado, aged 35, had a dispute with her elder brother, Damilola Momoh, aged 34, over a phone her brother had borrowed.

“During the argument, the suspect, armed with broken bottle, stabbed her brother on the neck, causing severe injuries and profuse bleeding.”

Odutola, however, warn against uncontrollable anger and advised young people to report any incident to the nearest police station to avoid taking the law into their own hands.
