President Bola Tinubu is currently leading the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The meeting is attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) George Akume, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu, and Head of Civil Service of the Federation Folashade Yemi-Esan, among others.
During the previous council meeting, the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, was tasked with proposing additional measures for the 2024 budget to address financial gaps anticipated from the implementation of the new minimum wage once finalized.
The council is expected to receive updates on this directive, as well as on the distribution of 740 trucks of rice to the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
