Enugu State Police Command operatives have apprehended two individuals for allegedly breaking into a parked vehicle and stealing two mobile phones.
In a statement released on Saturday, the command’s public relations officer, Daniel Ndukwe, confirmed the recovery of the stolen phones and the vehicle involved in the incident.
According to Ndukwe, the suspects, identified as 27-year-old Abuchi Kenneth and 29-year-old Ifeanyi Odu, were arrested around 4:00 p.m. on September 24 by operatives from the New Haven Division.
The investigation revealed that the suspects, who claim to reside in Zuba, Abuja, and Nekede, Owerri in Imo State, broke into a vehicle parked on Rangers Avenue, Enugu, and stole a Samsung Galaxy and an Infinix smartphone.
Upon receiving reports of the crime, police operatives pursued the suspects, intercepting and arresting them at Otigba roundabout, Enugu, where they recovered the stolen phones as well as their operational vehicle, a Toyota Corolla with registration number KUJ 614 CF.
Ndukwe indicated that the suspects would soon face charges in court.
