Northern group endorses Peter Obi for 2027 Presidency, plans extensive mobilization

The Arewa Indigenous Obidients Forum, a political group in Northern Nigeria, has announced its support for Peter Obi in the 2027 presidential election.

During a recent press conference in Kano, the Forum’s Coordinator, Engineer Alkassim Awwal, expressed strong confidence in Obi’s candidacy, emphasizing their belief in his potential to become Nigeria’s next president with divine intervention.

Awwal highlighted the Forum’s strategic vision and commitment to ensuring Obi’s victory in the upcoming election. He reflected on how Nigerians initially dismissed Obi’s appeals and visionary plans as mere political rhetoric but have since come to recognize the sincerity and truth in his messages.

“We listened as Peter Obi literally begged Nigerians to listen to his vision, yet we dismissed it as one of many political talks we have heard in the past. We now read the clear handwriting on the wall. We recalled the ethos of truth and sincere pledges to revive Nigeria’s economy and revamp our innate patriotism,” Awwal stated.

The Forum’s endorsement comes amid widespread hunger, poverty, and uncertainty in Nigeria. Awwal acknowledged that Nigerians, including Forum members, share responsibility for the nation’s current state.

Reflecting on Obi’s previous campaigns, Awwal noted that the former Anambra Governor’s calls for truth, economic revival, and national patriotism were clear. He criticized the current leadership for indulging in extravagance while the nation struggles with deepening poverty and widespread lack.

The Forum announced its dedication to mobilizing support for Obi across the Northern region and beyond in preparation for the 2027 election.
